I'm Jared Hall, and I build AI quoting workflows for Perth service businesses. In roofing, painting and renovation, quoting often means measuring all day and writing up at night or on the weekend. What it asks your customers
For roof restorations, re-roofing, gutters, painting, flooring, blinds and security screens, it asks for measurements or areas, storeys and access, condition, materials and colours, photos of the problem spots and timing.
How it works
- Enquiries from your website form or email inbox land in one place.
- The workflow drafts one message asking for missing details and photos of each problem area. You approve the wording, and nothing is sent without your approval. Automatic sending of a standard message is a later option, only if you opt in in writing.
- Your rates per square metre, per metre and per item build the draft quote, with an access or scaffold line where it applies. Your price list does the maths and the AI writes the wording.
- Jobs outside your rules are flagged for you, such as possible lead paint in an older house, more than two storeys or extensive repairs.
- You approve on your phone; no quote or message goes to a customer without your approval. It's sent from your own email address, and the job can be created in your job software where a connection is confirmed.
My calculator's defaults for these businesses: 8 quotes a week, 55 desk minutes each, 25% of that desk time taken over, about 1.8 hours a week. An estimate from defaults, not a result; you change the numbers. Formula: quotes a week × desk minutes each × share taken over ÷ 60 = hours a week.
What it doesn't do
It doesn't measure roofs from photos or judge condition. Caelaria is a new Perth studio with no roofing, painting or renovation clients or case studies yet, so my first three pilots are founding places.
What it costs
The audit is free: 20 minutes by phone or video, then a one-page written summary with a fixed price. The pilot is A$1,500 for my first three founding clients (I confirm in writing if a place is open), otherwise A$2,900; simPRO set-ups add A$600. The monthly plan is optional and starts only if you say yes: A$400 a month for founding clients (held for their first 12 monthly invoices, then A$490) or A$490 standard, month-to-month with 30 days' notice. If you take it, the first 12 months total A$5,900 founding or A$8,290 standard (before any simPRO charge). No GST is added; I'm not registered. No guarantee of extra jobs or revenue.

Questions roofers, painters and renovators ask
Does the AI set my prices?
No. Your rates do the maths in ordinary code and the AI writes the wording. I test it against 20 to 30 of your past quotes before it goes live.
Can it quote without me visiting?
Where a price rests on the customer's description, the draft says it's subject to site inspection. You decide when a visit is needed; condition calls stay with you.
My jobs are all different. Will it cope?
Most quotes follow a pattern: size, materials, access. The workflow handles that and flags unusual jobs. If every quote is one-off design work, it may not suit you.
Which job software does it connect to?
ServiceM8 (depending on your plan) and simPRO have official APIs. I couldn't find a public API for Tradify, so you get a quote ready to copy in. Others I check on the audit.
